This is the story of my journey and how I overcame being immobile and am able to walk again.
I started my journey by getting this book:

It goes into the details of the whys and hows and what I needed to know regarding healing nerve damage for myself.

I am not a doctor or a nurse... My journey started with me being confined to a wheelchair and being bed ridden because my neck had been broken.
I found myself desperately willing to change everything I could to be able to walk again. Not knowing how far I would get, I researched many books, including medical & herbal books, and every word in the book above is true. I can walk again because of the knowledge in this book though my doctors said I was never going to walk again. I can think of no greater gift than passing the information on :)
I am truly grateful to the woman who stopped, sat down in front of me, and directed me to this book. It gave me hope when I didn't think there was hope left. :) Thank you lady whoever you are!
Let’s Start with My Analogy:
Our nervous system is like the CPU for our entire body. It literally communicates with every organ in our entire body. When we have nerve damage… our nervous system is not capable of communicating correctly.
Unfortunately, Gabapentin is the “GO TO” medication doctors turn to for nerve damage. I say UNFORTUNATELY because: Gabapentin tells all the nerves in our entire body to go to sleep. It does not affect just the nerves that are hurting or damaged. It affects all the nerves in the entire body.
So by taking Gabapentin I was putting all the nerves in my entire body to sleep…
that means my nerves were not be able to communicate efficiently with:
my respiratory system / or my circulatory system / or my muscles / or my brain / or my lungs / or my digestive system... or any other part of my body... because my Entire Nervous System is asleep!
And, somehow, the nerves still hurt… every single minute of every single day... Despite handfuls of medication every day.
So of course bad things start happening to my body as a result from taking that medication. Being on Gabapentin caused me to have: muscle atrophy, difficulty breathing, brain fog, digestive problems… etc etc…
Reading that book helped me to realize I was on a destructive path & I had to take control… and that nobody was going to do it for me... but me.
Effectively, taking Gabapentin was like putting a bandaid on a Shark Bite!!!
And, I realized I needed to treat the “Underlying Problem”
I didn't think it was even possible to be able to get pain relief without gabapentin until I found out: It was possible! IT IS POSSIBLE!!!
I was so tired of taking this pill to cover up the side effects from this pill and that pill. And, nothing really worked!!!
I was bedridden, and in a wheelchair… with the knowledge from that book I started taking control of the situation by "staring at that Beast Face to Face" and making the necessary changes in my life to change things for myself... that led me to be able to manage my severe chronic nerve pain.
Healthy Lifestyle Changes To Promote Healing & Restoring Health
So, I started the journey that changed my situation!!! In a nutshell this is what I did to be able to walk again.
MONITORED HEALTH STATS: I started monitoring my blood test results my doctor was monitoring. I became aware of the imbalances in my body and determined what I needed to do to correct those imbalances. I logged all changes in a notebook & took herbal supplements to assist balancing my body.
* CHANGED MY DIET: I had to eat to heal my nerves... and there was no cheating the process. The book above explains why this is important. Essentially, I ate no preservatives…. That’s the biggest thing to healing nerve damage. “The food industry we rely on puts perseravatives in foods so foods can sit on the shelf for sometimes months or years at a time without going bad. However, our body can not break down these preservatives & these preservatives cause inflammation & break our bodies down.
(This is the driving factor why there are no preservatives, perfumes, or dyes in THS.)
The changes I made to my diet, taking the right vitamins and herbs, along with exercise helped me loose a large amount of weight, and eliminated: pre-diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure for me. My blood work started coming back balanced again. I believe the journey to heal my nervous system created incredible healing throughout my entire body. It has truly has been an amazing journey!!!
Certain foods create inflammation… If I noticed a certain food made me feel bad... I took it out of my diet. I started feeding my body for what it needed.... and stopped feeding my emotions or my desires. It is important to listen to our body... it's trying to tell us what it can not process what it is having a hard time digesting when we get: indegestion, bloating, blockages... these are messages from our bodies. So... Listen to your body!!!
Ultimately you are the only one who can decide what is right for you... but if you want to heal you must listen to your body.
Sugar is 1 of the foods I avoid. Sugar creates inflammation in the body. I substitute sugar for honey and short the liquid in recipes. IHoney has sweet and natural healing benefits that DO NOT break the body down.
NOTE: THS has digestive herbal properties that have been reported to relieve mild blockages, bloating, and inflammation in our intestines.
* NUPHORIA GOLD: I took Nuphoria Gold produced by the Doctors who wrote the book above for their clients. It is a high concentrated form of vitamins that our bodies require to repair the nerve sheath and is key to defeating neuropathy. * POSTURE CORRECTION: I worked hard to correct my posture because I have severe cervical degeneration. * SAUNA: Infrared Sauna helps heal nerves. After I did the wellness class at the YMCA every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I would shower then go into the Sauna for 10 to 15 minutes. Consult your doctor to make sure you can sit in a sauna before trying this.
I had so many benefits from the experience... thank you to the YMCA and the people in the wellness class ("My YMCA Family") who supported me and encouraged me throughout my journey!!! I am truly appreciative, and I love you all :)
* PRESCRIPTIONS: I researched the side effects from the prescriptions I was taking.... and followed the direction of the doctors from this book, which meant getting off calmost all prescription drugs like gabapentin. (The book explains it all). If you do this consult your doctor before decreasing any medicines.
* HOT DETOX SALT SOAKS: I take nightly Hot Water Epsom Salt, Dead Sea Salt, & Baking Soda soaks (it's my favorite part of my day now... because there was a time when I could not physically in and out of the bathtub. I had to sit on a showerchair and take a shower.)
Heat helps thin the lymph fluid in our body (lymph fluid is toxic inflammation that causes pain in our bodies).
Epsom Salt is magnesium and helps absorbtion.
Dead Sea Salt has amazing benefits (including detoxing).

NOTE: Do not burn yourself. Hot means as hot as you can tolerate without burning or bringing discomfort to your body. Remember Do No Harm. Heat is meant to Assist Healing.
* DEEP BREATHS THERAPY & MEDITATION: I found avoiding anxiety and stress and taking deep breaths helped so much, which led to meditation and grounding. My nerves were misfiring. They were not able to communicate correctly. Retraining my body to have a balance was a very important part of healing for me. Not only were the deep breaths beneficial for me mentally but they helped me strengthen my lung capacity and it was something I didn’t have to get out of bed to do.
NOTE: Stress (Emotional & Physical) creates cortisol in our bodies...
and cortisol increases the inflammation in our bodies...
and inflammation causes swelling, bruising, pressure, & pain.
Meditation Therapy:
My favorite meditation is using my senses (sight, smell, feel, hearing): I love put lavendar, jasmine, or frankenscense essential oils in a diffuser, with chakra crystals, candles, and with Tibetan bowls music… :)
Breathing Therapy:
. . . Breathe in your nose slowly
. . . Hold (even if for just a second or 2)
. . . Then breathe out your mouth slowly
* EXERCISE: I started rehabilitating my nerves and muscles by exercising in warm water (water buoyancy takes the weight off the muscles and joints and I was able to move in the water where I could not on land)... and even though, the left side of my body was almost completely paralyzed, I can walk today because of the changes I made.
I refer to that saying… “if you don’t use it, you loose it”. It’s 100% true. Our bodies require movement to be able to perform the way it is supposed to.
Small Achievements Count Too… I never diminished even the smallest improvements… I stopped letting the pain stop me... I had to retrain my nerves to communicate effectively with my muscles and the other organs in my body.
I exercised in bed because I could not physically get out of bed walk more than 10 steps at a time. Movement is movement. It takes a lot of repetition to retrain the nerves, and organs, and muscles in our bodies. Every little bit counts. So even though I couldn't actually move a particular muscle.... I would flex that muscle as if I could.... over and over and eventually the muscles learned a new memory pattern and started responding.

The 1st one - Breathing / Relaxing Therapy...
(Continued Stress Creates Cortisol Because We Tend to Breathe Shallow When We are Stressed... Then the Cortisol Creates Inflammation which Creates Pain... ( it's a vicious cycle )... This Technique Helps Stop the Cycle Because Breathing Deep Stops the Process Of Creating More Cortisol)
Close ur Eyes, Relax, and Release Stresses
While you Do This Inhale Slowly, Hold It , Exhale Slowly Repeat 5 Times. 3 or 4 Times Per Day (or Anytime u r Stressed)

The 2nd one - Works ur Core Muscles in your Stomach and your Hip Joints (This Should Not Hurt... Be Comfortable... Modify if Necessary)

* MIND OVER MATTER: I diverted my attention from the pain by focusing on what I could do… and stopped focusing on the pain and what I couldn't do.
(I could only take 10 steps at a time; so, I had my son put chairs and stools along my path to the kitchen and I started my journey by never letting somebody get me something that I could get for myself (10 steps at a time). I remember telling myself over and over... "I'm so thankful I can still take these 10 steps", every time the pain was so bad and I wanted to stop I'd remind myself...
"Our bodies are designed to move.... so keep moving… and never give up!!!".
Im so thankfully THS clears painful inflammation and helps me manage the unbareable pain caused by nerve damage which means I no longer have to grin and bear the pain.
It was a long and tedious journey but I can walk again… and now I manage my pain because I use the herbal benefits in THS to clear the inflammation and for General Wellness.
